Meet The Doctor

Dr. Erin Meany, DVM

Erin Meaney, DVM, grew up on a farm near Oelwein, Iowa where she spent most of her free time wrestling barn cats.  She knew at a young age that she wanted to become a veterinarian.  Erin received an Associate of Science degree from Ellsworth Community College and earned her DVM from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996.

Dr. Meaney has practiced veterinary medicine in the Cedar Rapids/Marion area for many years and wanting a professional change joined Heartland Animal in March of 2020.  She loves variety that general practice provides, but has special interests in surgery, feline medicine and behavior, geriatrics and hospice care.

Erin currently has 7 felines: Gargamel, Punkie Mangelwurzel, Arthur Garfunkel, Pipkin Rabscuttle, Gladys and Walter (the twins), and Robin Zander.  She enjoys gardening, reading and music in her spare time.
